The Finer Grain and Sarge's Grips

I got this Desert Ironwood on a dive trip to the Sea of Cortez. Desert Ironwood is know for it's toughness and beautiful graining and this set lives up to that. A very intriguing grain pattern just makes you stop and stare. The great color is there to highlight it. A very tough and hard wood, Desert Ironwood is wonderful for use in grip panels. Check out the pics and you'll see all of this come together. Of course, these grips were meant to be bobtails from the first cut and were hand fit to my Dan Wesson CBOB. No "chop" here to make a set of government grips "fit" a bobtail, just hand fit beauty and rounded edges that make the weapon melt into your hand. The butt of the grips is totally contoured - no corners to dig into your hand while shooting or your side while carrying. Nothing like my bobtail grips is out there that I know of. The finish is a mulit-layered, hand sanded satin lacquer for great protection and aesthetics.
